Inspired by the stunning annual New York Times Year in Pictures, I put together a few photos to close out the year. They remind me what a big deal 2012 was, and how many stories I have yet to tell.
(above) In late November, Eleanor Linehan traveled from Ireland to visit her family, good friends of ours. She taught me how to make a traditional Christmas pudding. Someday soon I hope to tell you about our morning together.
(above) A young man peeling pomegranates in Israel's Lower Galilee. I wish I'd sat down beside him, picked up a pomegranate, and inquired about his life.
(above) Pouring pomegranate wine at Rimon Winery in Israel's Upper Galilee. There will be more Israel photos, in time.
(above) Kim Burnell hosted a beautiful dinner party at her home in Southern California. I like how the couple on the right are both looking up at the sky.
(above) The Las Vegas strip. Bright lights, big city.

Warm wishes for a happy new year.
