I wish I had made this challah, but I didn't. My friend Lisa made it, and she did a beautiful job. She brought it to me last night, along with some chopped liver. An hour earlier Sheila was here with an entire dinner for my family, including fruit, salad, and a homemade pumpkin dessert. She even brought a bottle of honey because she knew we'd be celebrating Rosh Hashana. I am touched beyond words.
On this Rosh Hashana, with the markets crashing and the political drama
hurtling this way and that, it's nice to have a day for calm reflection. A
day to stop the madness. A day to be grateful and look ahead.
I wish good things for you, whether this is your holiday or not.
May life bring you sweetness and joy.
